I don’t usually workout with my trainer(s) on Sunday.  Today was an exception since I didn’t have a trainer workout Friday.  It was great!

I warmed up with the treadmill for 30min (using the cardio coach Kim).  I covered 1.25 miles, 261 cal.  2.7 was the average incline and 2.5 was the average speed.  I really like the new program.

Then, I met with Chelsea for the following:

  • Abdominal Machine: 115 lbs (one set 30, 2 sets of 25)
  • Biceep Curl Machine: 20 lbs (2 sets of 15)
  • Tricep Press Machine: 70 lbs (2 sets 15) alternated w/above
  • Plank on Ground: 33 seconds (tried a second time as well)
  • Lunges (down and back length of exercise room).  These were better today.  I still need lots of practice.
  • Back Extension: with 25 lb weight plate (one set of 20 w/ weight, one set w/o)
  • Woodchops: with 10 lb ball (2 sets of 20)
  • Hack Squat: 70 lbs (2 sets of @ 20)

After my workout with Chelsea, I did 15 min on the elliptical.

I feel great!

Next up: Monday SPIN with Beth

Today, my son had to have minor surgery.  Everything is fine, but it meant no workout.  If I was not quite so exhausted from being sick, I would have tried harder to sneak it in.  Instead, I entertained our 3 year old without food until almost 1pm when the procedure finally happened.  Tonight, I took my last fly-tying class.  More to come about fly fishing soon.

So, Tuesday I usually do a trainer workout with Chelsea in the morning.  Last week, there was also a biggest loser workout in the evening.  Two workouts was also the plan for today.

But, my one year old got sick and so today’s plan was thrown out the window.  We spent the morning at the Dr and picking up medicine for an earache.  Luckily, my scheduled sitter was still able (and willing) to come tonight, so I made it to the BL workout.

I did 20 minutes on the elliptical before the workout.

Jeff, Rich and Emily (my Friday trainer) ran this workout.  It was GREAT!  It definitely ranks up their with the BOSU BL workout a couple of weeks back.

We did some group warm up exercises that involved getting from one end of the court to the other and back.  Then, they broke us up into groups and we rotated through an upper body, lower body and core workout.  We finished with a few more group cardio things and some stretching.

I was glad to get a workout in.  I was extra glad it was a good workout.

Today’s SPIN class was great per usual.  Unfortunately, my daughter has a fever and has not had the best day.  With hubby out of town, my schedule is in a state of flux.

I’m super glad that I made it to class today, since both scheduled workouts for Tuesday are in jeopardy.

To top it off, I gained 4 pounds at the Biggest Loser weigh in.  Too much crap food doesn’t equal good weigh in.

We (the kids and I) headed to the J after church this morning.  We didn’t get there until after 10, but I was able to get in a good cardio workout before rushing home for lunch/naps.  There’s a small window of happy kids before they turn into terrors when they are too hungry and too tired.

I worked out on my own today.  10 min bike, 5 min hand cycle, 30 min elliptical.  It was a good and painless workout.

I’ve lost of bit of my mojo on the food stuff lately.  I am down inches for sure, but not really down in pounds.  I’m expecting to gain at the biggest loser weigh in tomorrow.  I need to “get with the program” and take off some more pounds.  I feel great for the most part, but that won’t get me to a healthy weight.

I didn’t spin this morning or do the cardio dance class this afternoon.  I had planned to meet up with a friend at the gym at 6:30pm.  I’m not really an evening exerciser, but this plan fit my schedule well today.

It snowed most of the day and despite the road conditions and the fact that my friend had to cancel, I went to the gym.  I didn’t have a stellar workout, but did manage to sweat for a bit.

I did a hodgepodge workout consisting of 10 min on the bike, 10 min on the elliptical, 3 min on the stair master, a set of squats with an 8 pound medicine ball and a set each of leg press, triceps, biceps, leg curl, adduction and abduction machines.  I was mostly trying out the new equipment while it wasn’t busy.

The drive home was much better than the drive to the gym.

Looking forward to a fuller workout in the morning.

The first Friday of the month, the kids and I head to Akron for the local coupon swap.  The swap starts at 11am and leaves little time for a workout.

We got to the J before 8:30am and I took the kids to the locker room so we could unload, take off boots, coats etc and get to Kid Kare right when they opened at 8:30am.

I was able to bike for 20 min as my warm up.  Hubby and I are going to ride the Hancock Horizontal Hundred in September and although I have been taking SPIN classes, I need to get some time in on a recumbent bike at the proper RPM pace.  We’ve (he) likes to cycle at 80-90 RPM.  I used to cringe at 60 or so.  I also used to think that I couldn’t get my heart rate in the proper zone if I cycled (vs elliptical).  It turns out, I just wasn’t at a high enough resistance, was pedaling too slow and was out of shape.  My 20 min at the 80-90 RPM was great!  I just compiled a play list of songs that are all between 80-90 RPM so I can practice.

My trainer workout with Emily was rather uneventful.  I was still sore from earlier in the week, but rocked the workout.  I’ll update with specifics when I get them.  The workout included dead lifts, lat pull down, row, back extension, triceps kick backs, and triceps overhead press.

I left right after our workout, so I could shower and hit the road.

Today was a scheduled spin day. The weather wasn’t too bad, so we packed up and headed to the J. Lori taught the class as usual. She had a great mix of music that was her first CD for a class ever. It was mostly pop songs from about 6 years ago. It was fun!

I was pretty sore from my two workouts yesterday, so I didn’t stand as much, but I kept spinning at a good clip the entire class.

I have 4 reasons that I am sore.
1) heavy hack squat
2) new back extension exercise
3) double workout
4) push ups on BOSU twice combined with pec fly, rear delt exercises

Tomorrow is a scheduled off day. I thought of trying the new SWEAT class at 6:30pm, but I think a day of rest is in order.

Activity points earned: 14 spin

Today, I had my regular trainer workout with Chelsea. I’ll add specifics of our workout when they are available. It included cable triceps, back extension, abs, squats, hack squat, fly/delts, etc. I did a 15 min warm up on the elliptical and another 15 min after my trainer workout. Before I left the fitness center, I ran into Shayna. She was finishing up her workout on the stair master. I joined her for 2 minutes. My goal is to get to 30 min. I was beat after the workout. I feel like the workouts are getting more intense. Chelsea isn’t afraid to push me to my limits and I’m not afraid to work. :-)

Workout specifics (2 sets of most):
Hack Squat: 120 lbs (this was pretty heavy)
Pec Fly: 60 lbs
Rear Delt: 60 lbs
Abs Machine: 90 lbs
Back Extension: body weight only
Overhead Press and Squat: 10 lb core ball (1 set of 20)
Bicep Curl: balance on 1 leg, 12 lb DB
Plank on Bench: 60 seconds
Tricep Rope: single leg balance, 70 lbs (second set with lowered weight)

Tonight, was a Biggest Loser workout. I warmed up on the elliptical for 10 min.
We did 1 min 15 sec of different exercises and walked around the gym in between. We kept moving the entire workout. We also had a warm up and stretching period.
Here is the list of exercises:
1) plie squats with lateral raise (no weight)
2) modified push up w/knees on BOSU
3) partner rows (used yellow band and it was way too light)
4) plank w/knees on BOSU (not my best plank and I took a couple of breaks)
5) BOSU step ups w/curl using 12 pound dumbell
6) V-UPs (I can’t really do these properly, I just did the upper body part)
7) Russian twists w/heels on the ground (one day I will do these with my feet off the ground)
8) curl and press w/dumbbell (10 pound)
9) standing leg lifts (30+ sec with each leg)
There were a couple of others on the list, but we ran out of time…
10) upright elbow to knee, alternating
11) BOSU DB chest press and bridge hold

I’m already sore.

Next up is suppose to be spin in the morning, but it will be weather dependent.

Activity points earned: 3 elliptical, 3 trainer, 4 BL work out=10 total

Today started out like any other day. The kids and I were all ready to get in the car, when I figured out that it was locked and my phone and keys were in it. I quickly had 2 screaming kids that were sad that we couldn’t go to the play room (aka Kid Kare at the JCC). Long story short, I thought hubby had locked the car (with my keys and phone inside) before he left for work. After I got a hold of him through a colleague at work, I figured out the driver’s door was actually unlocked. We rushed off to the J and still made it in time for class. It’s a good thing that we had 20 min of slack time built in today.

We had our Biggest Loser weigh in today. I maintained.

Spin class with Beth was awesome as usual. Shayna returned after her debut last Monday. I’m glad she likes the class. She’s been kicking butt on the stair machine and has invited me to join her. It’s on my list, but might need to get moved up the ladder of priorities. It’s nice to get to know other people at the JCC and pushing each other is healthy.

In addition to spin class, I did 3 sets of abs (20 reps at 85, 15 reps at 90, 20 reps at 75), 10 medicine ball squats w/10 pound ball.

Activity points earned: 14 spin class
